Adding a voiceover to your Renderforest project is a breeze! With three convenient options to choose from, you can quickly and easily enhance your video. In this article, we'll walk you through each method, so you can choose the one that suits your needs best.
Upload Your Voiceover File
To add a pre-recorded voiceover, simply select the scene you want to add the voiceover to, click on "Upload," and choose the source of your file: your computer, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
Text-to-Speech Feature
If you don't have a voiceover file, Renderforest's text-to-speech tool is here to help. Type your text (up to 500 characters) and select your language from the 10 available options (male/female voices).
To ensure your voiceover matches the pace of your video, you can adjust the speed using the provided slider. Experiment with different speeds to find the perfect match for your project.
Once you've customized your settings, click "Generate" to create your voiceover. You can then listen to the generated voiceover and save it if you're satisfied with the result. If it doesn't quite meet your expectations, feel free to adjust the settings and generate a new voiceover.
Record Your Voiceover
For those who prefer to record their voiceovers directly, connect your microphone and click on "Rec." This option allows you to adjust the duration if you plan to record a voiceover for your entire video, not just a single scene.
Once your voiceover file is added, use the timeline to adjust when it should begin during the scene. You can also replace or remove the file as needed.
Controlling Sound Volumes in Video Projects
If your project features both a voiceover or an uploaded video file and music, the task of achieving the perfect balance between the two might seem daunting. However, with the right approach, it's simpler than it sounds. You have the option to adjust the video file or voiceover and music volumes independently.
The adjustment process is straightforward: you can raise or lower the volume level of your uploaded video file/voiceover and the project's music separately. This dual-volume control system lets you tailor the audio levels in accordance with your specific requirements. For instance, if you wish to maximize the impact of the video's audio, you can set the sound of the uploaded video file to 100%. Concurrently, if you'd prefer to completely mute the project music while the video is playing, you can set the music volume to 0.
Once you add or upload an external video to a project you can adjust its sounds and the music volume with this "scissors" icon:
Adjust the Project music and Video volume to your liking and click "Done":
The capability to fine-tune both the voiceover and project music is located within the Music tab:
