The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a set of regulations introduced by the European Union in May 2018 to protect the privacy and personal data of EU citizens. It applies to any company or organization that processes the personal data of EU citizens, regardless of where that company is located — so if your website collects or processes personal data from EU citizens, it needs to be GDPR compliant. Non-compliance can result in significant fines and reputational damage, so it's important for every website owner to understand and implement the necessary measures.

Go to the "Cookies" tab under Website Settings, select the GDPR cookie banner, and click the toggle to enable it

Include brief information on why your website stores cookies, so visitors know what they're agreeing to by taking any action on the banner.

Edit the accept button

Click the accept button field to edit its text if needed. This button is required and can't be deleted.

Click the privacy policy field and check the box to add a privacy policy button to the banner. Edit the button text if needed, and add a link — either an external URL or your website's own privacy policy page. You can also add a privacy policy link to your website's footer by checking "Add 'Privacy Policy' link to footer components" (this requires your website to have at least one footer component). Add a settings button

Click the cookie settings field and check the box to add a settings button to the banner. Edit the button text if needed. When visitors click "Settings," a pop-up appears letting them manage their cookie preferences — customize it by clicking "Customize Pop-up."

Add a decline button

Click the decline button field and check the box to add a decline button to the banner. Edit the button text if needed, then save your changes.

The cookie settings pop-up appears when a visitor clicks the settings button on the banner, letting them manage their cookie preferences. To customize it:

Edit the pop-up title, description and button

Edit the title field to name the pop-up — keep it short and clear. In the description field, briefly explain what the pop-up is for, and edit the confirm button text if needed.

Under "Cookie categories," customize the text for each of your site's main cookie categories: Essential, Analytics, Marketing, and Functional Cookies. Each category (aside from Essential, which is required) includes a toggle so visitors can turn that category on or off from the pop-up.
