Renderforest templates come with designated placeholders for various types of media, such as video, image, and logo holders. These placeholders make it possible for you to integrate your images, videos and logos into your project while ensuring a professional and polished result. In this article, we will guide you through the process of incorporating your media files into your Renderforest projects.

As a first step in using your own media files on Renderforest, you need to add a corresponding placeholder scene to your project.


With the first step click the "+" button on your project timeline:

In the window that opens, choose from categories: all, video, or photo/image.


Select a video or image holder scene and click "add to video" to include it in your project for further editing.

To add your own media files to a project, click on the media holder and you will have several options:


  • Upload from Your Device: You can directly upload files from your device. Simply click on the 'Upload' button and select the desired files from your device. To expand your knowledge of compatible file formats, have a look at our article here.

  • Pick from My Files: If you have previously uploaded media files to Renderforest, you can access them from the 'My Files' section. This section also contains the projects created with Renderforest. This feature allows you to quickly add your favorite images, videos, or logos to your project without the need to re-upload them.

  • Stock Library: Renderforest offers a stock library with a wide range of images and videos. You can browse and search the library to find the perfect media files for your project. To learn more check Unlocking the Potential of Stock Footage.

  • Recently Used: To speed up your workflow, Renderforest displays your recently used media files in a dedicated section. This enables you to quickly access and reuse your favorite media files without having to search for them.

Edit Your Video


Once you add a video file, you'll be directed to a video editor. Here, you can:

  • Trim the Video: Select the necessary section from the timeline of the video to fit your project's needs.
  • Rotate the Video: Adjust the orientation of the video if necessary.
  • Control the Volume Settings: Adjust the video volume relative to the project volume. This is useful if you need to emphasize the added video file's audio over the project's background audio or vice versa.

Click the "Done" button to complete the editing step and move forward with your project. 


Edit Image


Once you add an image file, you can access the image editor by clicking the "edit" option. Here, you can:

  • Change the Scale: Adjust the size of your image to fit your project needs.
  • Transform: Rotate the image or choose to fill/fit it into the media placeholder.
  • Adjust: Make advanced edits to the image, such as changing the brightness, contrast, and saturation.
  • Apply Filters: Enhance your image by applying various filters.

Using your own media files in your Renderforest projects is a simple and effective way to create unique, personalized content. With a variety of options for uploading and accessing your media files, you can easily enhance your projects and bring your creative vision to life.
